Photography From Film To Digital

Home

Photography In New Zealand has changed drastically in recent years. For Many years Photos were taken on a film camera. That film was then taken carefully out, Dropped off at the processors then picked up in a couple of days. Photographs were expensive and didn't always work out particularly well as it was not possible to view the photo before development.

These prized photos were taken home, ooed and aahed over, then lovingly placed in albums.

Fast forward to 2011. Film cameras are now seldom used, even by professionals. Digital cameras, now the norm, Give the photographer the ability to select the best photo and delete the rubbish straight after taking it. Printing costs for digital photos are much lower than film, making photography much more accessible for the average Joe.

So where are all these wonderful prints. In albums? No.. In envelopes waiting to be put in albums? No… Our photos are stored by the thousands on our computers, seldom seeing the light of day.
